Good Guys Tree Service of Utah is a small, owner-led tree care company based in Cedar Hills. We were founded in 2023 by co-owners Ian Meyers and Joseph, and we've spent the years since building a reputation across Utah County for showing up on time, doing the job right, and cleaning up better than we found it.
We're licensed and insured, BBB A+ accredited, and rated 5.0 stars across every review platform we're listed on, Google, Thumbtack, BBB, and HomeAdvisor. We're not the biggest tree service in Utah. We don't want to be. We want to be the one your neighbor recommends when you ask who to call.
Before we started Good Guys, Ian and Joseph were Utah wildland firefighters, the crews that work the fire lines on the steep, brushy terrain when summer turns the canyons into tinder. That work taught us two things that shape how we run this business: how to make smart calls about risk, and how to take care of the land while you're working on it.
You're working with sharp tools, on uneven ground, in changing weather, with valuable things on every side. The same crew discipline that keeps a fire line safe is what keeps a tree-removal job from ending in a hole in someone's roof.
Everything we do has a checklist. Crew briefing before work starts. Drop zones marked and cleared. Rigging plan walked through out loud. PPE on every person, every time. The job ends when the gear is packed and the yard is swept, not when the last branch hits the ground.
We give in-person estimates with fixed quotes. No "well, it turned out to be bigger than we thought" surprises at the end. If we run into something genuinely unexpected, we stop and have a conversation before doing the work.
Our most common review keyword across Google and Thumbtack is "communication." We pick up the phone. We text you when we're 20 minutes out. We walk you through what we're going to do before we do it. You should never feel like you have to chase us for an update.
This one comes straight from the fire line. Every job ends with a sweep, a rake, and a final walk-through with the customer. If we missed a branch, we're going to know it before we drive off.
